25 Residents from three community in Kano Stated adopted by the Bandits at one night

NIGHT OF TERROR AS BANDITS SWEEP THROUGH THREE COMMUNITIES, ABDUCT 25 RESIDENTS IN A COORDINATED MIDNIGHT RAID Kano State has been thrown into fresh panic after a fearless bandit gang launched simultaneous attacks on Unguwar Tsamiya in Faruruwa Village and Dabawa community, all in Shanono Local Government Area, abducting about 25 residents and leaving at least two villagers injured in the chaos. According to emerging reports, the attackers stormed the communities around midnight, firing sporadically and moving from house to house in a well-planned operation that lasted for more than an hour. Residents say the terrorists arrived “as if they had studied the area for weeks,” overwhelming local vigilantes and forcing dozens of families into hiding.

This latest assault comes barely days after reports of rising bandit activities across rural Kano, with multiple communities—including Faruruwa—crying out for government reinforcement. In previous weeks, neighbouring villages witnessed the abduction of nursing mothers and traders, fueling fears that a new kidnapping corridor may be forming within the north-western state.

Security sources say the attackers escaped toward the Katsina forest axis, dragging their captives along dangerous bush paths. As of the time of this report, no official statement has been released by the Kano State Police Command, but local leaders confirm frantic efforts are underway to alert authorities and mobilize rescue operations.

Residents who survived the nightmare described it as “a night we will never forget,” warning that rural Kano communities are now sitting targets unless urgent action is taken. As the situation develops, families of the abducted victims are pleading for immediate intervention before the kidnappers initiate ransom negotiations.
