Pray for Nigeria

Rev. Nick Donnelly, a Catholic priest from the UK, is calling on the International Criminal Court to arrest Nigerian cleric Sheikh Gumi for his extreme views.

He made this statement on his X account on Monday. Donnelly's demand follows Gumi's claim that there is no Christian genocide in Nigeria. In a recent video, Gumi compared herdsmen to the Indigenous People of Biafra, saying they kidnap children for profit and asked for fairness towards them.
Donnelly responded firmly. He believes Gumi should face charges of crimes against humanity in The Hague. He highlighted Gumi's support for herdsmen, whom he labels as Islamist terrorists involved in child kidnapping. Donnelly insists that the ICC must take action against Gumi.
This call for accountability comes after Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB, received a life sentence for terrorism. Lawyer Malcolm Omirhobo pointed out that Kanu's conviction reveals a troubling two-tiered justice system in Nigeria, where some are punished harshly while others escape consequences for similar or worse actions.
