THE REAL STORY OF THE BENIN REPUBLIC

READ THE REAL STORY OF THE BENIN REPUBLIC 🇧🇯 CRISIS!!!

People of BENIN REPUBLIC:

We said no to a 14-year presidency! We begged you Mr. President, to reverse that clause. Why are you forcing monarchy on us?

BENIN President:

I am doing what is best for stability. Long-term rule ensures continuity. You people don’t understand governance.

People of BENIN REPUBLIC:

Continuity or dictatorship? We are not your subjects! BENIN is not a kingdom! It's a democracy!

Civil Society (background voices):

Return the constitution to normal! Restore term limits! Respect democracy!

BENIN President (angry):

I will not be lectured by citizens who don’t understand politics. I have foreign partners who support me.

FRENCH President (quiet but firm):

Stand your ground. We support you. Do not let these protests derail your long-term reform. And don’t worry — we will handle the coup plotters.

BENIN Military:

Mr. President, you have ignored the will of the people. Your constitutional manipulation threatens national stability. For the sake of DEMOCRACY, we are taking over this government for the sake of the people.

BENIN President (panicked):

This is illegal! FRANCE, do something! NIGERIA, defend democracy — defend me

FRENCH President:

NIGERIA, we need your cooperation. Move in and restore him. Our strategic interests must be protected. If you scratch my back, I scratch yours.

TINUBU (to FRENCH President):

How will you scratch my own back?

FRENCH President:

I will help you fight insecurity so that the AMERICAN forces wont invade your country . You know, it's invasion season...hahaha.

TINUBU (to FRENCH President )

Aye aye captain! No shit. I will run it for you.

TINUBU (to NIGERIAN forces):

NIGERIA stands for constitutional order—even if that “order” means keeping this president in power. The senate has approved this request.

NIGERIAN Forces:

Orders received. Troops mobilizing. Entering BENIN REPUBLIC under the guise of “regional stability.”

People of BENIN REPUBLIC (shouting):

NIGERIA, stay out of our country! We are fighting for democracy, not monarchy!

Why are you supporting our oppression?

APC Data boys and other Bigoted NIGERIANS:

Please leave story! NIGERIA is doing the right thing. BENIN people are our brothers; let's unite with them — even if its by force. Coup is coup; we must stop it. If the president wants to rule 14 years, so what? Were we not a monarchy before the  BRITISH came? Who DEMOCRACY help? Mtcheeeeew!

People of BENIN REPUBLIC:

Protected? By forcing us to accept a dictator? By invading our country because FRANCE said so? What kind of democracy is this?

BENIN Military:

We acted because the president refused to listen. We acted because the people were betrayed. If foreign forces restore him, then democracy is no longer for AFRICANS — only a tool for manipulation.

TINUBU (politically evasive):

NIGERIA is only acting in the interest of regional peace. (But the truth is: FRANCE asked, and we obeyed). It's for regional peace.

People of BENIN REPUBLIC:

Regional peace or regional exploitation?

FRENCH President (smiling):

Yes! Stability first. DEMOCRACY can wait.

People of BENIN REPUBLIC:

Really?! Democracy can wait? This is why AFRICA never moves forward. Our leaders obey foreign powers before obeying their own citizens.

Bigoted NIGERIANS (with side-eye):

You people too talk! If NIGERIA supports it, we support it. DEMOCRACY means different things to different people in different situations.

A NIGERIAN Citizen Who Can Think:

And that is the problem. If we defend anti-democratic behavior abroad, we will defend it at home. If we normalize tyranny in BENIN, we will normalize it in NIGERIA. Where exactly are we going as a nation?
