A prominent pastor in Pakistan, Rev. Kamran Michael, was shot and killed on December 5 by assailants in front of his young daughter as he was dropping her off at school.
Pastor Kamran survived multiple gunshot wounds in a previous assassination attempt on his life in September.
“Muslim extremists had been pursuing him and threatening him everywhere he went.”
He continued to faithfully serve his church and the Christian community in spite of the threats he was receiving.
He leaves behind his wife, two daughters and a son.
Lord Jesus, Pastor Kamran Michael died a martyr for his service to You. He is now seeing You face to face! While he is experiencing the incredible joys of heaven, his family, congregation and Christian community in Pakistan are grieving his death.
They are fearful and seeking You for help. The persecution and killing of Christians in Pakistan continues with little support from local police or governing authorities.
We ask that You would move in the hearts of Pakistan’s leaders to make dramatic changes to protect the lives of the Christian community. Strengthen the faith of Your followers so they will continue to live for You and not despair over the persecution.
Give them Your peace instead of fear. Protect them from harm. Provide for the needs of Pastor Kamran's family. Give wisdom to church leaders to be able to guide their congregations during these ongoing times of hostility against them. May the good news of Your salvation continue to spread across Pakistan as a result of the martyrdom of Pastor Kamran. In Your matchless name we pray. Amen.
