 A Nigerian in UK, Named Babatunde Odutola, a 36-year-old a registered sex offender, was jailed for 44 weeks at Manchester Magistrates' Court on Monday, September 14, 2026. His sentencing came just 72 hours after he exposed himself and masturbated in front of a woman traveling alone on a UK train

The Confrontation

On the evening of Friday, September 11, 2026, Odutola boarded a train traveling through Cheshire toward Manchester Piccadilly. He approached a lone female passenger, looked her up and down intimidatingly, and became aggressive when she refused to interact with him

The Offense

Sitting in a wheelchair, Odutola exposed his genitals and began masturbating while staring directly at the victim and telling her to "come over". 

The Intervention 

A fellow passenger noticed the woman's distress and successfully escorted her out of the carriage to safety. Meanwhile, onboard CCTV captured Odutola continuing the act entirely undeterred as other passengers passed by

Arrest and Sentencing

The British Transport Police (BTP) were alerted and intercepted the train, arresting Odutola immediately upon its arrival at Manchester Piccadilly station. Faced with overwhelming CCTV and eyewitness evidence compiled by detectives, 

Odutola pleaded guilty to outraging public decency and breaching a prior suspended sentence order. BTP officials emphasized that swift custodial sentences like this underscore their commitment to ensuring women and girls can use public transport safely and without experiencing repugnant behavior.
