ESN was launched on 12 December 2020  by IPOB Leader Ohamadike Biafra Prophet (Maazi Nnamdi kanu) as a response to rising Fulani-Terrorists attacks & Insecurity across rural areas of the South-East.

Its foundation was built on the need to protect farmers, secure forest routes, and support communities facing threats from violent criminal elements.

From inception, ESN focused on defending villages, forests, and farmlands across the old Eastern Region.
