If Christians decided to avenge everything happening to them in Nigeria especially in the North trust me, nobody would be alive today. Both Christians and Muslims would have wiped each other out long ago. But Christians choose peace over violence.
Not because we are weak. Not because we cannot fight back. Not because we do not know how to defend ourselves. Not because we are incapable of killing or beheading like others do…
But because that is NOT what Jesus taught us.
Christianity does not train you to destroy people who disagree with your faith.
Christianity does not command you to slaughter unbelievers to “defend your God.”
Christianity does not ask you to shed blood to prove loyalty.
But hear me clearly I am not discrediting self-defense. I’ve been preaching self-defense, and I’ll keep preaching it: When they come for you, defend yourself. When they attack you, don’t fold your arms. That is wisdom, not wickedness.
The difference is this, Other systems teach, “Fight for your god, kill for your god, eliminate whoever doesn’t believe what you believe.”
But Christianity teaches, “Love your enemies, pray for them… but defend your life when danger comes.”
That’s the difference. That’s why we choose peace. That’s why Christians are still standing.
