Fresh fear has engulfed residents of Agingi, Angwan Damisa, and Dutse Uku communities in Jos North, Plateau State

Fresh fear has engulfed residents of Agingi, Angwan Damisa, and Dutse Uku communities in Jos North, Plateau State, following alarming reports of threats issued by suspected bandits.

According to residents, the attackers reportedly warned of a planned assault scheduled for the night of April 3, 2026, sparking widespread panic and uncertainty across the affected areas. The situation has left many families on edge, with urgent calls for security agencies to take swift and decisive action to protect lives and property.

Security operatives stationed at checkpoints have confirmed they are aware of the threats. While urging calm, they advised residents to stay alert and report any suspicious movements, assuring that measures are in place to prevent any potential breach.
Meanwhile, public affairs analyst Dashwei Jacob Dauda has strongly criticised the recent visit of Bola Tinubu to Jos, describing it as insufficient given the prolonged suffering of residents affected by recurring violence.
Dauda argued that the visit failed to deliver meaningful impact, noting that it did not extend beyond the airport or reach the communities most devastated by attacks. He expressed disappointment in local leaders who, instead of highlighting urgent issues like insecurity, displacement, and injustice, focused on political praise and endorsements.
He stressed that leadership demands courage, especially in times of crisis, warning that silence and inaction from those in power continue to deepen the hardship faced by affected communities.
