Over 700 individuals who have undergone deradicalization and rehabilitation, with plans to reintegrate them back into their communities.
This will give them the opportunity to k1ll more kidnap more and rape more women and children, I guess.
But this raises serious concerns.
How do you expect to end terrorism while continuously releasing former fighters back into society? Many Nigerians see this as a flawed approach that risks recycling insecurity rather than solving it.
There is also growing public frustration over the perceived imbalance: when terrorists capture and execute soldiers, it ends in tragedy—but when they are captured, they are rehabilitated and released. This contradiction fuels anger and distrust in the system.
If not properly managed with strict monitoring, accountability, and community safety measures, reintegration efforts could undermine national security instead of strengthening it.
