ARK PROPHET” IN POLICE NET AS GHANA MOVES TO CURB FEAR-MONGERING PROPHECIES

The Ghana Police Service has finally confirmed the arrest of controversial self-styled prophet Evans Eshun, popularly known as Ebo Noah, amid growing public outrage over doomsday predictions that gripped social media in recent months.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, police said Eshun was picked up by the Inspector-General of Police’s Special Cyber Vetting Team as part of intensified surveillance of cyber-related activities ahead of 31st night religious services.

The confirmation followed days of viral speculation linking the arrest to stern warnings by security agencies against individuals who issue public prophecies or declarations capable of triggering fear, panic, or public disorder.
While stopping short of revealing the specific allegations against him, the police acknowledged that the arrest was connected to efforts to clamp down on online content and public pronouncements deemed capable of threatening public peace.
Police sources disclosed that Eshun remains in custody to assist investigations. No formal charges, court dates, or bail conditions have been announced, fueling further debate over whether authorities are drawing a line between religious freedom and public safety.
